FHC hosted its 9th annual Halloween Extravaganza for the Bowdoin community on Saturday, October 22, 2016.  Despite damp weather, the event attracted over 185 visitors and featured entertainment for the entire family. Guests were able to seek out a scare on the haunted trail walk or play it safe with inside games and activities appropriate for the younger crowd, such as face painting, Halloween-themed games, pumpkin decorating.

According to FHC’s Nina Bergendoff, one of the event’s organizers, it takes many volunteers to make the event a success.  In addition to relying on the efforts of its employees, FHC enlists high school students from the Mt. Ararat Interact Club to assist with the activities. Members of the Bowdoin Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary provide concessions throughout the evening.

All proceeds from the event go the Bowdoin & Bowdoinham Fire Departments.
